My Time at Google.

My Time at Google.

At Google, I was responsible for designing and delivering the on-boarding experience for a consumer facing new Google app scheduled to launch soon.

I had to actively collaborate with Product Managers, Interaction Designers, Visual Designers, Researchers and both front-end and back-end Engineers across the team to define the constraints and deliver the final screens.

I joined at the early stages of the product and was able to take part in several brainstorming sessions with both Design and Product Management helping contribute towards the overall product vision.

During my internship, I have conducted primary research, designed and prototyped high fidelity iterations of the on-boarding experience, each of which was tested and validated with users. On some occasions, I have lead these studies by working closely with Research.

My iterations were built in Sketch and prototyped in Framer. We were able to gather rich feedback and insights from our user testing sessions as a result of the high fidelity nature of these prototypes.

The team saw a lot of value in this and I was able to introduce this culture to the team that later helped a lot for testing other flows of the app as well helping Eng. to translate the mocks to builds.

I also had the opportunity to explore motion and animation using Google's in-house proprietary motion design principles. I was able to design these in After Effects and prototyped the same in Framer.

Through my 5 month long internship at Google, I have been able to learn how Product teams functions while working with real-life constraints such as Government regulations/legal requirements/market infrastructure.

Given the highly confidential nature of the project, I am unable to share the details of this project before its launch. But the team is moving incredibly fast, so do check this space out for updates. Thanks for understanding. :)
